PFAFF buying guide

Which PFAFF machine is a good first step?

The Smarter 160S is a straightforward mechanical start for learning, alterations and everyday sewing. Choose the Smarter 260C if you prefer computerised stitch selection and more convenience.

What is the PFAFF Original IDT System?

Original IDT feeds fabric from above and below to help keep layers aligned. It is useful for quilting, checks, stripes, slippery fabrics and accurate seam joins. Check the individual model specification because Smarter models do not include IDT.

Which PFAFF models suit quilting?

The quilt ambition 635 and expression 710 are the natural active-model shortlist for patchwork and quilting. The unlisted Quilt Expression and performance icon models are covered in the buyer’s guide for guided comparison.

Should I choose a sewing-and-embroidery machine?

Choose the creative ambition 640 when you want a capable everyday sewing machine that can also embroider with an attached unit. PFAFF creative expression and creative icon models provide a more advanced guided-sale route.

Overlocker or coverlock—which do I need?

An overlocker trims and wraps raw edges. A coverlock adds coverstitch and chainstitch for stretch hems and activewear-style finishes. The admire air 7000 combines these functions in one machine.
